Krabi Airline
Chooses TIK Systems' Reservation and Departure Control Systems for Its Airline Operation Bangkok, December, 2007 – Krabi Ailine, an International carrier offering scheduled services between Krabi, Norway, Germany and Australia has selected TIK Systems' tikAERO passenger reservation and departure control system.
About Krabi Airline
Krabi Airline is being set up and plans to operate between the province and international destinations, to take advantage of Krabi Airport's upgrade to an international airport.
The airline was founded by four investors, including ex-employees of Thai Airways International, including Kosol Vongsrisart.
It plans to fly to Norway, Germany and Australia by the end of the year and the US and Japan within five years, said Civil Aviation Department director-general Chaisak Angkasuwan. |

IRS begins test-run of e-ticketing system
IRS Airlines Limited has commenced the test-run of its e-ticketing system to join the league of airlines that have complied with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) 100 per cent e-ticket initial deadline of December 2007.
The system which was developed for IRS airline by TIKAERO of Thailand
is designed to modernize the company’s ticket distribution channel and to ease passengers’ process of obtaining ticket for travel on IRS flights.
General Manager of the Airline, Mr. Yemi Dada said that in a few weeks from now, passengers would be able to use IRS Airlines online portal on the company’s website to make reservations, buy tickets and pay online.
IRS, he said is focused on creating a new airline category, offering value, service and style. He stated further that IRS was working with Union Bank plc to issue IRS loyalty cards to members of the company’s frequent flyer program, the ‘T-plus’. T-plus according to the general manager, travellers will use this electronic purse to book, pay and track their travel on the company’s flights. Membership benefits will also be tracked and logged using this card,
he added.
IRS Airlines was incorporated on November 19, 2001 to carry out the business of aviation and allied services and was issued an Air Transport license in February 2002 to enable it operate as a full fledged airline followed by
an Air Operators Certificate, AOC, in March, 2002 by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The airline provides regular scheduled operations, that is, basic passenger services and charter services. The company has plans to commence operations to destinations within the African continent and other international destinations. This plan he said, would soon be unfolded in the coming year. |
